1. Introduction
Hammer Golf ("Hammer," "we," "our," or "us") is a mobile application for iOS that helps golfers
organize and track bets during rounds of golf. The app allows players to set up matches, record
scores and statistics, track who owes whom, and settle up after the round.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share your information when you use
the Hammer Golf app. By using Hammer, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
2. Information We Collect
Information You Provide
- Account information: name, email address, and phone number, collected during onboarding.
- Profile information: display name and avatar photo.
- Authentication credentials: Sign in with Apple, Google Sign-In, or email and password, managed through Supabase Auth.
- Golf data: handicap index, home course, match history, hole-by-hole scores, putts, fairways hit, and greens in regulation.
- Financial tracking data: Venmo username, Cash App cashtag, Zelle email or phone number, bet amounts, and settlement records (who owes whom, amounts, and payment status).
- Subscription information: subscription tier, trial dates, and transaction IDs, processed through Apple StoreKit.
- Referral codes: codes you create or redeem.
Automatically Collected Information
- Device tokens: collected when you opt in to push notifications, used solely to deliver notifications to your device.
- Usage data: activity logs within matches, such as when scores are entered or settlements are updated.
Information from Third-Party Services
- Apple: authentication tokens via Sign in with Apple, subscription and transaction data via StoreKit.
- Google: authentication tokens via Google Sign-In (through Supabase OAuth).
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- To create and manage your account.
- To authenticate your identity when you sign in.
- To display your profile (name, avatar) to other players in your matches.
- To record and display scores, statistics, and match results.
- To calculate and track bets, settlements, and who owes whom.
- To facilitate settlement between players by sharing payment handles with match participants.
- To manage your subscription and process renewals through Apple StoreKit.
- To send push notifications about match updates, settlement reminders, and other relevant activity.
- To apply and track referral codes.
- To store your data locally on your device for offline access.
- To improve and maintain the app.
4. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal data. We do not share your information with advertisers
or data brokers.
With Other Players in Your Match
When you participate in a match, other players in that match can see:
- Your display name and avatar photo.
- Your scores, statistics, and match results.
- Settlement information (amounts owed, payment status).
- Your payment handles (Venmo username, Cash App cashtag, or Zelle contact) for settlement purposes only.
Other players in your match cannot see your email address, phone number, or any personal
information beyond what is listed above.
With Third-Party Services
- Supabase: Your data is stored in a Supabase-hosted database (running on AWS infrastructure). Supabase acts as our backend service provider for authentication and data storage.
- Apple: Authentication data is exchanged with Apple when you use Sign in with Apple. Subscription and transaction data is processed through Apple StoreKit.
- Google: Authentication data is exchanged with Google when you use Google Sign-In (via Supabase OAuth).
Important Note About Payments
Hammer Golf does not process, facilitate, or handle any financial transactions. The app only tracks
who owes whom and for how much. All actual payments between players occur outside of Hammer, directly
through third-party services such as Venmo, Cash App, or Zelle. We have no access to or involvement
in those transactions.
5. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored in a Supabase database hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure.
We take the security of your data seriously and employ the following measures:
- Encryption in transit: All data transmitted between your device and our servers is encrypted using TLS (Transport Layer Security).
- Row Level Security (RLS): Our database enforces Row Level Security policies, meaning you can only access your own data and data from matches in which you participate. Other users cannot query or view your personal information.
- Local storage: Some data is stored locally on your device using SwiftData for offline access. This data remains on your device and is protected by your device's built-in security features.
- Authentication: Your account is secured through Supabase Auth, which supports Sign in with Apple, Google Sign-In, and email/password authentication.
6. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active. If you request deletion
of your account, we will delete your personal data from our servers. Some information may be retained
in aggregated or anonymized form that cannot be used to identify you.
Match data (scores, statistics, settlements) associated with other players may be retained in
those players' match histories, but your personal identifiers will be removed upon account deletion.
7. Your Rights
You have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access: You can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction: You can update or correct inaccurate information through the app or by contacting us.
- Deletion: You can request that we delete your account and associated personal data.
- Data portability: You can request a copy of your data in a portable format.

8. Children's Privacy
Hammer Golf is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal
information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child
under 13 without parental consent, we will take steps to delete that information promptly. If you
believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, please contact us at

9. Push Notifications
Push notifications are opt-in. If you grant permission, we may send notifications related to:
- Match updates (scores entered, match completed).
- Settlement reminders and payment status changes.
- Invitations to join a match.
- Other activity relevant to your matches.
You can disable push notifications at any time through your device's Settings app. Your device
token is used solely for delivering notifications and is not shared with third parties for
marketing purposes.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, the app,
or applicable laws. When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this
page. For significant changes, we will notify you through the app or via email. We encourage you to
review this policy periodically.
